nerd alert: i think Hel is actually the place. Hela is the goddess of Hel. nitpicking?

Nah, not nitpicking! I’ve just given up trying to correct people. Hel, in Norse mythos, is the name of the being/goddess and the location. Which can be confusing; I’m pretty sure something gets lost in the translation to English. So Marvel stuck an ‘a’ on the end of her name, likely to help differentiate between being and location. Norse = Hel, Marvel = Hela. Hel, the location, is also sometimes called Helheim to help differentiate, too.

Let’s just forget about the spelling and talk about how bad ass this looks!
